What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substance Abuse and Recovery Coach position at PathWays PA?
The Substance Abuse and Recovery Coach should be a mature individual who has the ability to identify with and adapt to the goals and philosophies of the program. They shall possess trauma informed Care approaches in services to residents and interactions with all others. They shall possess the skills to assist with finding resources for on-going recovery, self-help, crisis/coping, and social skills while helping to develop a network of community support. They shall act as a role model and shall possess the knowledge necessary to interact in a supportive, and non-punitive, and non-judgmental manner. Valid driver’s license is required. This person shall have past or present consumer of mental health or substance abuse services with a history of managing one’s own illness. Candidate must have three full years or more without crisis, relapse, or treatment or criminal involvement and or equivalent training.
