Pathways to Housing DC (Pathways DC) is based in Washington, DC and serves adults recovering from/experiencing homelessness in the District and Montgomery County, MD. We are an innovative and nationally recognized nonprofit committed to ending homelessness for individual with complex health challenges. Pathways DC is one of the originators of the "Housing First" model to end homelessness, in which services are provided without conditions and pre-housing requirements such as curfews, mandated sobriety or compliance with medication. The Clinical Supervisor serves an important role in the delivery of services to adults living with serious mental illness. This person is responsible for the clinical oversight of a transdisciplinary Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. The Clinical Supervisor oversees the development and application of a range of programs and services sufficiently flexible and dynamic to meet the needs of individuals who have psychiatric disabilities and substance abuse issues who have not been well served or have been unable to access traditional mental health programs. This person provides supervision for the ACT team members including Social Workers, Peer Specialists, Addiction Counselors, Nurses and other professionals, assuring that the agency values of self-determination and the dignity of choice through a harm reduction approach are expressed in all aspects of team practice.
Responsibilities:
- Provides clinical supervision of ACT team comprised of professional, paraprofessional and support staff. Ensures team provides related services to assigned clientele in accordance with ACT policies, practices and in compliance with accreditation, certification and regulatory standards.
- Reviews and approves staff schedules, reimbursement requests, and compliance with company policies. Ensures continual skill development, performance reviews and training of team members.
- Participate and lead orientation and on-going clinical training.
- Responsible for the quality assurance of the clinical records. This includes reviewing and approving individual recovery plans; reviewing and approving clinical notes; and
- ensuring timely documentation. Conducts initial intake of new clients and annual assessments, ensuring quality service
- Represents Pathways at meetings with DBH, other providers, conferences and at community meetings.
- Provides individual therapy to ACT consumers 2-3 hours per week.
- Completes monthly outcome reports on billing, quality assurance and timely documentation.
- Provides other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Licensed in the District of Columbia as either a LICSW or LPC.
- Minimum 2 years experience in case management or counseling of people with psychiatric disabilities, histories of substance abuse and/or trauma. Previous experience with ACT highly desired.
- 2 years of demonstrated experience supervising staff performing case management services as indicated.
- Demonstrated knowledge of mental health and substance abuse clinical skills
- Patience, creativity, flexibility, compassion, and passion for working with persons with complex needs
- Excellent organizational, communication, writing, and computer skills;
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Driver’s License required
