Pathwayz Communications has an opening for a GIS Technician. The GIS Technician creates, updates, and edits maps using computer programs and occasionally performs manual drafting. This role involves managing spatial data and applying GIS knowledge to support fiber optic projects. The technician handles assignments independently, solving problems using established procedures. Guidance is minimal except for complex tasks. In this role, you will collaborate with other employees and contribute to specialized projects while also managing tasks independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage survey data and maintain data systems.
- Process field data, manage files, ensure accurate mapping, and prepare document deliverables for permitting needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Equivalent technical training in GIS and or years’ experience in related systems may be considered.
- Familiarity with basic field data collection tools and processes (e.g., GPS units, mobile data collection apps) is a plus but not required.
Work Environment:
This role offers flexibility, with the ability to work remotely, in the office, or in the field, depending on project requirements.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday.
Travel:
Travel may be required as needed to meet project and client demands.
