Geographical travel area: Must reside in the Northeast and be willing to travel Midwest and Northeast including but not limited to: IA, IN, PA, MD, OH, VA, NY, NJ.
Estimated travel per month (20% for 0-3 nights per week)
JOB SUMMARY:
The Clinical Support Nurse is responsible for providing clinical guidance and expertise in topics related to hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and nutrition support therapies to the VP of Sales, Nutrition Therapy Consultants, and other clinical and non-clinical personnel. He/she supports the company’s mission and coordinates care with other healthcare providers, the patient, the patient's family, and the community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active Registered Nurse license from the state where practicing is required.
- 5 years of clinical experience (parenteral nutrition, dialysis experience, and/or home care experience preferred).
- Outgoing, engaging, and energetic.
- Self-starter, ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent Patient Care America and its goods and services to Nephrologists and dialysis clinics.
- Provides guidance and clinical support in your designated region.
- Acts as a resource in problem-solving patient care issues.
- Makes fiscally responsible travel arrangements to and from patient home trainings and on-site clinic in-services.
- Assists with the introduction of IDPN and IPN therapies and equipment.
- Conducts both in-person or virtual in-service training on IDPN and IPN therapies.
- Trains dialysis center staff on how to administer/ start patients on IDPN.
- Assists in obtaining patient and doctor’s signatures on forms needed to start therapy.
- Trains patients and/or patient’s nurse/ caregiver on IPN and home IDPN therapy at the patient’s home.
- Uses company software to document all patient communications/interactions.
- Conducts care plan reviews for all home patient starts both quarterly and as needed.
- Participates in the development/ evaluation of Patient Education/ discharge planning aspects of care.
- Provide customer feedback to corporate to improve customer satisfaction.
- Attends all Team meetings and company Town Hall Presentations.
- Assists in sales presentations as directed by the VP of Sales.
- Conducts regional training programs for Nutrition Therapy Consultants.
- Participates in exhibiting at renal conferences as needed.
- Collaborates with Nutrition Therapy Consultants, Dietitians, Physicians, and other health care professionals to identify educational needs.
- Works with PCA’s Pharmacy staff in deciding what formula is appropriate to provide a patient.
- Maintains a friendly, professional, caring attitude towards customers and co-workers in all forms of communication.
- Other duties as assigned.
