At Patient First, we are dedicated to providing a patient-first approach in the medical laboratory. We are currently seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team in East York, PA.
About the Role
This is a dynamic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional care and service to our patients. As a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our clinical teams by analyzing lab results and ensuring accurate diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities
- Specimen Collection and Processing: Follow established laboratory procedures for specimen collection, handling, processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of test results.
- Quality Control: Adhere to laboratory quality control policies and document all quality control activities, instrument calibrations, and maintenance.
- Instrumentation and Calibration: Ensure that all laboratory instruments and equipment are calibrated and functioning correctly.
- Lab Safety: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety policies as defined by Patient First and OSHA.
- Customer Service: Provide positive, friendly, and courteous customer service to patients and colleagues alike.
Requirements
- Education: A minimum of 60 semester hours from a regionally accredited college or an Associate degree in chemistry, biology, or related science.
- Clinical Experience: One year of clinical experience preferred, with completion of clinical rotations in microbiology, urinalysis, chemistry, and hematology.
- Certification: Registered Medical Technologists (M.T.) or Medical Laboratory Technicians (M.L.T.) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or other recognized certification agency preferred.
