Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. As a Dental Assistant, you will assist the dentist during procedures, manage patient records, and maintain a clean and organized environment while adhering to all safety and infection control protocols.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including endodontics and prosthodontics.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control standards.
- Manage patient medical records and documentation, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) while adhering to safety guidelines for medical imaging.
- Record vital signs and update patient information as necessary.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Schedule appointments and manage the office’s appointment systems efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace to promote a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in using Eaglesoft or similar dental practice management software is an asset.
- Knowledge of medical records management, medical documentation, infection control protocols, and vital signs monitoring.
- Familiarity with dental procedures, including endodontics and prosthodontics.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are essential for maintaining accurate records.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks.
