Our newest addition, the Peanutball Program, introduces kids ages 3-7 to the basics of basketball in a fun, interactive environment. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for an experienced, passionate, and energetic individual to lead this exciting program!
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Peanutball Program Director to oversee and run our weekend program for young children. This part-time position requires someone with a deep passion for working with young kids and the ability to make basketball fun and engaging for this age group. The ideal candidate must be available to work weekends and be able to manage and entertain up to 20 preschoolers at a time. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in child development, early childhood education, or youth sports who thrives in an active, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and facilitate Peanutball sessions for children ages 3-7 every weekend (exact hours to be determined).
- Develop and implement fun, age-appropriate basketball drills and games that focus on coordination, teamwork, and basic basketball concepts.
- Engage up to 20 children during each session, ensuring all are actively participating and having fun.
- Provide a safe, supportive, and positive environment where children can learn and develop new skills.
- Foster relationships with parents and communicate children’s progress in the program.
- Supervise any assistant coaches or staff involved in the program.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, and the training area is safe and organized for every session.
- Support program marketing efforts and assist with any events or special activities.
- Monitor and manage children’s behavior and safety throughout each session.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children ages 3-7 (preschool, daycare, or similar environment).
- Must have a solid background in basketball, either through coaching or personal experience.
- A background in early childhood education or as a preschool/elementary school teacher is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with kids, parents, and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
- Exceptional patience, creativity, and energy to manage a group of young children while keeping the atmosphere fun and positive.
- Experience supervising or leading small teams is a plus.
- Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
