Front Office Representative
About the Role:
This position is responsible for providing excellent patient service and ensuring a smooth registration process. The ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive patient information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with kiosk registration prior to being seen by a physician or nurse.
- Escort patients who require emergency assistance to the treatment area for registration and evaluation.
- Handle requests from physicians and nurses in a timely and respectful manner.
- Communicate Patient First's billing policies to patients as needed.
- Register patients accurately and provide exceptional customer service while working efficiently.
- Verify patient demographic, health, pharmacy, and insurance information.
- Answer billing and insurance questions, and provide itemized billing statements upon request.
- Refer billing questions to the appropriate personnel as necessary.
- Collect payments from patients and issue receipts according to the electronic medical record system.
- Discharge patients and process incurred charges.
- Manage cash collected during shifts and account for it at the end of each shift.
- Receive, send, and distribute correspondence as directed.
- Filing and scanning medical documents and office forms as instructed.
- Complete assigned checklists and Policy Manager tasks within designated shifts.
- Answer incoming calls and distribute messages promptly.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Demonstrate proficiency in the electronic medical record system.
- Receive, move, and stock ordered supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness of the front office workspace and perform other maintenance tasks as required.
- Run daily reports at the end of each shift.
- Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
- Be available to assist as needed, even during breaks and meal times.
- Operate, use, and maintain medical and office equipment according to training.
- Participate in maintenance assignments when necessary and as directed.
Requirements:
- Age 18 or older.
- Basic typing skills.
- Minimum one year of clerical experience preferred.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 7 hours.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Excellent communication, verbal, written, and typed skills.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Will to work at any center due to staffing issues, emergencies, or reductions in work.
Compensation:
$19.50 - $22.00 per hour, depending on experience.
