What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Intervention Specialist position at Patrick County Courthouse?
General Description : The Special Education Intervention Specialist is responsible for working with special education teachers to support best practices in using data, providing analysis of trends and needs and making recommendations for next steps in collaboration with principals and the Director of Special Education. The Specialist will support teachers with designing and implementing strategies that meet the learning needs of students with disabilities. The Specialist will act as an advisor to teachers and principals by providing support to deepen knowledge of special education throughout the division specifically in the areas that focus on the referral process, timelines, writing and implementation of IEPs and measuring student progress.
R equirements :
- Minimum of five years successful special education teaching experience
- Master's Degree preferred
- Virginia teaching license with a special education endorsement
- Recommended leadership and supervisory experience
- Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills
- Strong communication skills to share research-based instructional approaches with teachers and administrators and provide advice, mentoring, and coaching
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong knowledge of special education services, requirements and timelines
