Job Summary
As a Mechanical Maintenance Millwright, you will be responsible for performing advanced mechanical maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the optimal performance of machinery and equipment. You will need a strong commitment to safety, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Execute complex mechanical maintenance tasks, including installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and mechanical systems such as motors, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems.
- Dismantle machinery and equipment to locate causes of malfunction or mechanical breakdown, replacing parts from stock or fabricating replacements as needed.
- Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices, as well as assemble, install, and proactively maintain mechanical systems and equipment to support efficient operations.
- Perform basic saw maintenance tasks, including filing saw blades, maintaining saw components, and setting up saw guides to ensure precise cutting operations.
- Analyze and troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, implementing effective repair actions to restore optimal function.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as lubrication, cleaning, welding, and maintenance planning and layout work.
- Operate arc welders, cutting torches, hand tools, forklifts, and welding trucks in support of maintenance and repair tasks.
- Adhere to safety lockout procedures and plant safety rules, maintaining excellent housekeeping practices to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Participate actively in the company’s safety program and consistently follow safe work practices, including team-based safety protocols for higher-risk tasks.
- Support the use and implementation of the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) – FIIX.
- Work may include various shifts, overtime, and weekends or holidays during periods of high production demand.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Preferred: Five (5) years of relevant maintenance experience or a combination of education and experience. Certification in mechanical maintenance or related fields is a plus.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools, as well as precision measuring and test instruments.
- Experienced in working with pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems.
- Strong skills in root cause analysis and problem-solving.
- Demonstrated ability in all aspects of mechanical maintenance.
- Stable, documented work history with a proven track record of reliability.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work any shift, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Willingness and ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Job Type: Full-time
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
