Florida Marine Tanks, a division of Patrick Industries, is looking for a Plant Controller to add to their team. Working as a strategic partner to Leadership and reporting to the Business Unit Director, the Plant Controller will be responsible for budget management, capital expenditures, financial analysis, payroll approvals, forecasting, and financial reporting for the growing Division!
Responsibilities And Duties
- Supports and guides Business Unit financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies, procedures and internal controls
- Prepares budgets by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data and recommending plans to Business Unit Leaders
- Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
- Maintain a system of record to adhere to all accounting best practices, policies and procedures
- Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
- Month end financial reporting and financial statement analysis including plan variances
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures.
- Maintain the chart of accounts
- Issue timely and complete financial statements
- Process new vendor set up request
- Prepare monthly sales reports
- Cost Analysis
- Account reconciliations, including Inventory in Transit, Interco due to/from, Bank Accounts, and Petty Cash
- Other Various Ad Hoc projects
Qualifications And Skills
- Must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years’ of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Cost Accounting experience is highly desired
- Manufacturing Accounting experience highly desired
- Prior experience with ERP Systems; Alere or AX considered a plus
- Familiarity with financial automation software and business intelligence tools such as PowerBI or BlackLine
- Ability to bring strategic thought leadership while providing strong execution of detailed departmental functions
- A high level of personal integrity (self-esteem, confidence, honesty, and respect)
- Candidates must have strong accountability and follow-through skills
- Flexibility and foresight to balance engagement and the business needs
- Working knowledge of the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act
- Candidates must have a dynamic personality with the ability to work and communicate effectively with all team members
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in terms of being clear, concise, and professional
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines and work independently with little to no oversight
