What are the responsibilities and job description for the Canton Area DSP position at PATRICK'S HELPING HANDS LLC?
You have to be flexible with your schedule. We are looking for dsps for our homes in Canton and Massillon . Must have a reliable transportation back and forth to work , we need our dsps to be where they belong at the time that they are scheduled. Opportunity for full-time. Evening shift Must have a car and must be a driver, must have high school education or GED. Prefer a DSP who already has their first aid and CPR card and 8 hour certification, however If you're not certified we can help you get certified! Don't just take a job, start a career with PHH! We are seeking compassionate and energetic individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals in need, ensuring their well-being and quality of life. We want to help our individuals become as self sufficient as comfortably possible and improve their independence and lifestyle. The DSP is the most important employee on our payroll.
Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation, cleaning
-Provide transportation to our clients to their jobs, day programs, grocery stores, dr appointments, or just to hang out in the community
- Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals
- Administer medications and monitor vital signs as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents
- Respect and uphold resident rights and confidentiality
- Implement individual care plans tailored to each person's needs
- Work with individuals with autism, learning disabilities, or those requiring specialized care, we also provide for those with behavior disorders as well
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and maintain confidentiality at all times
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in direct support, caregiving, or related fields is preferred but not necessary . We will train to the Ohio required standards and ensure proper certifications are met.
- Knowledge of patient care practices and procedures
- Familiarity with working with individuals with Developmental disabilities or behavior disorders is a plus
- Understanding of resident rights and code of ethics
- Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with our clients and their families
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications are a bonus
