We are looking for an experienced Pet Bather / Apprentice Groomer to join our team. This position is the entry level position for anyone interested in starting on the multi-year path to ultimately becoming a groomer or stylist. This is a team oriented position, and involves working cooperatively with other fear-free groomers in a busy salon on a daily basis.The foundation for the best quality grooming is bathing and drying properly and that's where this position starts. We provide the training! The apprentice position is focused on bathing and drying dogs, as well as nail trimming and similar services. After training, the technician is expected to bathe and dry 7 to 10 dogs per shift, depending on fur type, fur condition, breed standard, and customer requests. There is significant future growth potential for this role, including scholarships to attend grooming school while working.

Responsibilities:

• Performing routine and specific grooming services for pet dogs including but not limited to bathing, brushing, ear cleaning, gland expression, drying, nail trimming, and once fully trained, other specialized grooming services and add-ons, while on a schedule
• Perform basic health checks on pets
• Monitor pets for signs of distress or illness
• Creating a comfortable and relaxing experience during each pet’s grooming appointment
• Provide customer service to pet owners
• Following Fear-Free grooming protocols and certification Requirements (and becoming Fear-Free certified at company expense within 90 days of hire)
• Working with the Force-Free certified dog trainers on staff to help dogs who have fears of grooming overcome those fears and reach grooming goals
• Assist in taking photos & videos of the grooming process as well as your completed work
• Maintaining clean and organized personal work area and tools
• Ensure that all safety protocols are followed

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Salary: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
