Our agency is growing and were looking to add an Account Manager.
Property and Casualty Insurance License Required before starting. Can apply without license.
Job Type: Full Time - 5 days a week to include Monday through Friday.
Reports to: Agency Principal.
SUMMARY:To assist in the production of new and the retention of renewal accounts in keeping with agency and individual Producer goals. Provides service to designated accounts in support of Customer Service activities and maintains high service standards. May do some sales when needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for gathering the information and risk management recommendations regarding the renewal of designated accounts and to deliver the renewals and/or binders for designated accounts as needed at Agent discretion.Prepare new applications with underwriting acceptability for insurance company program, completion and accuracy. Actively solicits increases in coverage or rounding out accounts through sales to clients at every service contact. Maintain customer's account on agency automation system, documenting conversations in notes, sending confirmations to insureds and adhering to all other automation procedures that are/become established. Explains coverage and exclusions to clients. Actively seeks referrals from current client base to solicit for new business prospects; follows up to generate new business using prospect database and system. Receives phone calls and office visitors requesting quotes, changes to existing coverage and/or new policies. Determines acceptability and placement, completes applications or endorsements and collects premium when applicable. Review existing accounts to determine if additional lines of insurance should be solicited and does so by mail and phone. To perform special projects at the request of designated clients. Maintain a concern for timeliness and completeness when interacting with customers, agency and company personnel to minimize potential for error or omission claims. After reviewing the survey information, completes applications for designated renewal business. Contact insured for latest data and obtain renewal information 90 days before renewal date. Assist Producer as directed or necessary. Receive phone calls from clients and companies, complies with requests and keeps Producer informed of client activities. Follows up on outstanding claims and provides assistance in their resolution as necessary. Perform special projects at management's request.
Will work re-quotes on renewals for Personal Lines and Commercial Lines.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: Support standing of office staff with clients. Solicit expiration dates for policies not written by agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be aggressive/assertive, a self-starter with the ability to influence others. Should have demonstrated effective presentation skill through both verbal and written communications.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must have all licenses or the ability/desire to obtain within 30 days as required by the State Department of Insurance to sell insurance in South Carolina.
EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE USAGE: Personal computer, calculator, on-line information system and various software including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Fast-paced multiple tasking conditions, high disruption environment.
