Job Summary:
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and services necessary for the production of signage. This role ensures cost-effectiveness, timely delivery, and adherence to quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Source and negotiate with suppliers for materials such as vinyl, aluminum, LED lighting, acrylic, hardware, and other signage components.
Issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Monitor inventory levels and work with production to forecast material needs.
Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier information.
Evaluate vendor performance and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Collaborate with project managers, designers, and production teams to ensure material specifications align with project requirements.
Manage relationships with existing vendors and seek out new vendor opportunities.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent, Buyer, or similar role (experience in signage, construction, or manufacturing preferred).
Knowledge of materials used in sign fabrication (metals, plastics, vinyl, lighting, etc.).
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Familiarity with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
