Production Planner / Master Scheduler

Job Summary :

Responsible for developing, managing and monitoring production schedules to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery of products. This role involves balancing customer demands with manufacturing capacity, inventory levels and resource availability to optimize production flow and minimize costs.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Productions Planning :
  • Create and Maintain production schedules to meet customer demand and company objectives.
  • Ensure schedules are optimized for efficiency, resource utilization and capacity constraints.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address delays or changes in demand.
  • Demand and Inventory Management :
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service and supply chain teams to forecast demand and align production with market needs.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to avoid overstock or shortages.
  • Capacity Planning :
  • Evaluate manufacturing capacity, equipment and staffing needs to ensure resources are properly allocated.
  • Identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions to improve throughput and efficiency.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting :
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and present reports on production performance, capacity utilization and schedule adherence.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with procurement, engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure production plans align with business objectives.
  • Serve as a point of contact for communication between departments regarding production issues and updates.
  • Continuous Improvement :
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices to optimize production planning and scheduling processes.
  • Participate in or lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Qualifications :
  • Education :
  • Business Management or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience :
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in production planning, scheduling or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with past ERP systems is a must, ODOO is preferred.
  • Skills and Competencies :
  • Strong knowledge of production planning and scheduling techniques.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
