Production Planner / Master Scheduler
Job Summary :
Responsible for developing, managing and monitoring production schedules to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery of products. This role involves balancing customer demands with manufacturing capacity, inventory levels and resource availability to optimize production flow and minimize costs.
Key Responsibilities :
- Productions Planning :
- Create and Maintain production schedules to meet customer demand and company objectives.
- Ensure schedules are optimized for efficiency, resource utilization and capacity constraints.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address delays or changes in demand.
- Demand and Inventory Management :
- Collaborate with sales, customer service and supply chain teams to forecast demand and align production with market needs.
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to avoid overstock or shortages.
- Capacity Planning :
- Evaluate manufacturing capacity, equipment and staffing needs to ensure resources are properly allocated.
- Identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions to improve throughput and efficiency.
- Data Analysis and Reporting :
- Analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and present reports on production performance, capacity utilization and schedule adherence.
- Cross Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with procurement, engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure production plans align with business objectives.
- Serve as a point of contact for communication between departments regarding production issues and updates.
- Continuous Improvement :
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices to optimize production planning and scheduling processes.
- Participate in or lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs. Qualifications :
- Education :
- Business Management or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience :
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in production planning, scheduling or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with past ERP systems is a must, ODOO is preferred.
- Skills and Competencies :
- Strong knowledge of production planning and scheduling techniques.
- Proficiency in scheduling software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.
