As a Hospice Aide Bedside Vigil, you will sit with each patient in their home or the facility they are in for the last 24-48 hours of their life.
Business Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Working Hours: Flexible Hours - Weekends/Days/Nights
Territory: We are looking to fill roles in Mahoning, Columbiana, and Trumbull County.
As a Hospice Aide Bedside Vigil, you will:
- Perform personal care according to the Hospice Aide Plan of Care
- Document care provided according to agency policy
- Report any deviations from the Plan of Care
- Use DME safely
- Take vital signs
- Provide respite for patient's family/caregiver when on-site, as appropriate
- Sit alongside patients in their last 24-48 hours
- Turn and reposition patients
- Perform oral care on patients
- Provide support to families
- Perform postmortem care
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Received a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training with at least 16 hours of devoted to supervised practical training and with at least 16 hours of classroom instruction completed.
- One year experience as a STNA, hospice aide, or home health aide.
- Must have a current CPR (BLS) certification.
- At least 18 years old.
- Must be a licensed driver with an insured automobile in good working order.
- The ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
