Patriot Broadband Technologies is growing and is seeking an experienced warehouse specialist to ensure inventory is processed, organized and stored in a new warehouse facility in the Frederick, MD area. A critical responsibility of the Warehouse Specialist is to maintain accuracy of inventory control of materials and supplies utilizing receiving, shipping and storage processes within a 15,000-20,000 sq ft facility, including both indoor and yard. The ideal candidate is comfortable working on their feet, organized, focused on meeting objectives, and is a self-starter requiring minimum supervision in a warehouse or shipping and receiving environment. Below is a list of some of the essential duties, skills and requirements for the role. This is initially a part-time position, up to 29 hours. Duties and Responsibilities:
· Safely move, sort, organize and store inventory in the proper location
· Completes receiving and distribution functions such as: pick-up and delivery functions, validation of material
contents against packing lists and manifests, and inspection of received items
· Fulfill material requests and distribute to crews, on-site and off-site.
· Report damaged or missing inventory to supervisors
· Remove inventory from trucks or shipping containers and deliver to proper location within the warehouse
· Update logs and documentation for inventory processing
· Record transactions in customer’s electronic ERP system and other computerized inventory control tasks
· Safely operate material handling equipment such as: gas/diesel/electric-powered forklifts of various capacities, pallet jacks, hand trucks, automatic or manual shrink wrap machines, warehouse scales, banding and strapping equipment, wheeled carts and cages, J-bars, dock and lift gate equipment, and packing tape dispensers
· Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow all safety guidelines
· Ensure workspace is free of debris and remove safety hazards from aisles
· Support outside of warehouse team projects and participate in training programs to learn additional team duties
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Able to climb steps stools and rolling ladders up to 10 ft. tall
· Able to work in a fast-paced environment
· Pays attention to detail and monitors the quality of inventory
· Highly organized and able to track and store items efficiently
· Demonstrated experience operating various material handling equipment in accordance with safety requirements and procedures
· Demonstrated experience safely moving material of various sizes and weights throughout a warehouse as well as onto and off of trucks
· Computer skills needed to learn and work with electronic inventory control, basic Microsoft Office suite knowledge, as well as other computer tasks
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening and able to pass a pre-employment physical
· Physically able to stand and walk 90% of the work shift
· Physically able to sit, move, squat, stoop, crawl, and climb during the course of the shift
· Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds
· Physically able to push or pull up to 75 pounds
· Able to climb steps, stools, and rolling ladders up to 10 ft. tall
· Good hearing to allow for listening to intercoms, safety alarms, and speaking on telephones
· Good vision to see color differences in wires and read schematics and other materials
· Able to operate telephones, and computer equipment to include keyboard and mouse
Experience, Educational Requirements, and Certifications:
· High school degree or equivalent
· License or certification as dictated by the state to operate heavy machinery as needed (Fork truck certification required)
· Valid driver's license with a clear driving record (MVR check) and satisfactory background check.
· Must be able to obtain and retain a DOT medical card, and pass drug screening, as required.
Work Environment:
· Regularly exposed to wet, hot, cold and/or humid conditions; and moving mechanical parts.
· Periodically exposed to high, precarious places.
· Sometimes exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
