This position is an on-site position with the opportunity for a hybrid remote work schedule.
The Systems Integration Specialist’s role is to participate in the planning, coordination, and solution development and implementation activities related to the integration of applications and technologies within the organization’s application environment. Proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, proficiency in programming languages and knowledge of integration best practices are critical to successful performance in this role. This role requires a deep understanding of financial processes and the ability to streamline workflows through effective integration solutions.
Responsibilities
· Participate in and/or lead, the planning of integration projects.
· Design, develop, and deploy integration solutions within the organization’s guidelines to meet the specific needs of the organization and ensure seamless data flow and process automation.
· Provide technical knowledge and experience during the planning, execution, and management of integrating the organizations financial and line of business applications.
· Ensure accurate and efficient data migration, synchronization, and management between systems.
· Identify and resolve integration issues, providing technical support and guidance to users.
· Develop standards, processes, and maintain comprehensive documentation of integration processes, configurations, and changes.
· Analyze current financial processes and recommend improvements, products and/or services to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
· Build relationships with vendors of application software deployed in the organization to both learn about and provide feedback on their technical integration capabilities.
· Continually develop skills with the integration technologies in place, as well as staying informed on new developments in integration technology.
· Implement audit, logging, and monitoring solutions of integration systems.
· Manage data hygiene for all administrative application systems.
· Assess existing workflow and procedures to identify and remedy source of downstream data inconsistencies.
· Provide training and support for staff on the use and benefits of integrated systems.
Position Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering, and/or 4 years equivalent work experience.
· 4 years direct experience in enterprise-level application integration.
· Experience in managing integration projects and working with cross-functional teams.
· Proven experience in overseeing the linking of applications between disparate business units and systems.
· Extensive experience in integrating various financial applications, with a strong focus on DocuWare, ABS Nautical Systems and Microsoft Dynamics GL.
· Proficiency in system configuration, data management, and troubleshooting.
· Ability to analyze and improve financial workflows and processes.
· Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping and methodology development, and data mapping.
· Technically fluent in at least one programming language.
· Direct, hands-on experience with automated integration tools, including Microsoft SQL Data Transformation Services, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services, PowerShell, and Transact SQL.
· Extensive knowledge of relational database design and management techniques, especially with Microsoft SQL Server.
· Confidence and experience with API protocols and schemas such as SOAP and REST.
· Experience with securing integration scenarios using appropriate authentication, authorization, non-repudiation, and data encryption methods.
· Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
· Understanding end-user needs and requirements.
· Understanding of the how to relate the organization’s goals and objectives to a useful technology solution.
· Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
· Outstanding writing and documentation skills.
· Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
· Able to conduct research into application integration issues and products.
· Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
· Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
· Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
· Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
