Patriot Erectors LLC. is growing. We seek a motivated Loader to join our dedicated team.
The individual in this role is tasked with operating a forklift or Loader to move, locate, stack, and count materials. The Operator is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient use of the vehicle and potentially performing Order Filler and Checker duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Unload inbound shipments safely and move material to storage locations.
- Load outbound shipments efficiently and safely, following loading procedures.
- Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
- Pull and prepare material for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and product type is loaded and shipped.
- Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
- Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars or trailers.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage materials using a forklift or other power equipment.
- Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials neat, clean, and orderly. Inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.
- Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed work methods.
- Keep appropriate records and reports to maintain tight inventory control and security. Assist in physical inventories. Ensure proper stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety.
- Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required.
Skills and Specifications:
- Knowledge, skill and ability to safely operate a forklift
- Knowledge, skill and ability to safely operate a yard dog
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and paperwork.
- Solid problem-solving skills.
- Ability to contribute and work in a team environment.
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to ensure first quality of work.
- Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in the course of work.
- Willingness to work additional hours to meet tight deadlines.
Education and Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
- A valid driver’s license and a good driving record
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is continually required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to crawl, talk or hear, taste, or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required b the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
