What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Surveillance Technician position at Patriot Group International?
Patriot Group International Inc. (PGI) has multiple, full-time, non-exempt employee openings for a Construction Surveillance Technician (CST). These positions are in Phoenix, AZ. This position reports to the PGI-Program Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with established Construction Security Plan
- Document through photographic and written form, the daily construction activities related the general site construction and concrete pours. Must meet minimally established requirements for photographic documentation during each shift.
- Supplement site access controls, implement screening and inspection procedures and monitor construction and personnel to include clearing and securing areas
- Complete daily activity reports and immediately report 100% of security incidents, issues, and concerns to SSM upon detection.
- Randomly screen/examine construction materials for prohibited items and hazards and document accordingly.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with ICD705 construction standards, as depicted in the construction drawings and per the CSP.
- Conduct periodic security and quality inspections for the duration of the project to ensure compliance with construction design and security standards
- Assess and report anomalies and security incidents via a written report with photographic documentation
- Handle all other duties as assigned by the PM/SSM
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a combination of the following areas of expertise:
- Construction Security Surveillance (CST)
- Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM)
- Industrial or Government Security Involving Counterintelligence, to include Physical Security
- Construction Quality Assurance
- Hands-on Supervisory Construction Experience (Superintendent, Foreman, Sub-Foreman)
- Successful completion the Department of State (DoS) Construction Surveillance Technician training course (SE631) or equivalent course of instruction to be reviewed and approved by PGI.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, as well as write detailed reports, analyses of problems, findings, and security situations which require staff actions
- Capable of independent decision-making and functioning with minimal supervision
- High degree of individual initiative

Ability to:
- Stand for 8 hours or longer
- Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions including extreme heat, extreme cold, humidity and various other adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time
- This position may require lifting (up to 20 lbs), standing, walking, siting, and bending throughout the workday
- Must be able to walk across uneven surfaces of a construction site, climb ladders, and able to frequently go up and down stairs, maneuver around, on, and over obstacles and equipment on the construction sites and/or locations where pre-fabrication of construction materials is occurring.
