Utility Laborer

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Utility Laborer to join our team at The Patriot Group. The ideal candidate will assist in various tasks to support Material Management and Logistics primarily in an outdoor yard environment. The Utility Laborer will perform a variety of manual labor duties, including loading and unloading trucks, operating forklifts, maintaining material inventory, collaboration with Installation Contractors and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the worksite. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, forklift certification, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. This is a temporary position at a ten-month timeline currently, with future phases of work anticipated in Decatur County, IN.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general tasks such as lifting, carrying, and moving materials, tools, and equipment in an outdoor yard environment, often in extreme weather conditions.
• Load and unload trucks with materials and equipment using forklifts and other tools.
• Assist in maintaining accurate material inventory records.
• Perform electronic tracking via devices for inventory levels.
• Operate basic hand and power tools, forklifts, and other machinery, following safety guidelines and procedures.
• Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the worksite, including sweeping, mopping, and disposing of waste materials.
• Follow instructions to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Attend regular meetings and training sessions to improve knowledge and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations, reporting any potential hazards or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete daily tasks and projects on time.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift certification is preferred.
• Previous experience in a general labor role, particularly with loading and unloading trucks and material inventory in WHSE setting, is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions, blueprints, and safety guidelines.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, as well as machinery used in general labor tasks.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
• Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
• Flexibility to work in varying weather conditions and different work environments.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
