Patriot Erectors, Inc., an AISC certified structural and miscellaneous steel fabricator and erector, is currently hiring for multiple CNC Operator positions. If you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for precision, we want you on our team!

Position Overview

As a CNC Operator, you will use pre-nested cut cards and other documentation to convert raw shape steel into semi-finished parts for fabrication. You will need to read, understand, and verify information on the cut card, including type, size, weight of beam, cut length, and heat number.

Essential Job Functions

• Material Verification: Ensure material is correct prior to cutting.
• Cut Sheets: Work off pre-nested cut sheets and match descriptions and lengths with material.
• Measuring: Use manual or CNC measuring tools to measure material being cut.
• Identification: Piece mark and identify steel per job requirements.
• Stacking and Staging: Properly stack material safely and stage pre-jobs.
• G-code Programming: Understand, interpret, and edit G-code programming.
• Tooling: Recognize, deploy, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and tooling.
• Maintenance: Ensure inserts are in working condition and material is cutting square. Perform daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
• Marking and Stock: Properly mark up drops and return to stock.
• Loading/Unloading: Responsible for loading/unloading the machine with an overhead crane.
• Compliance: Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.

• Kinetic 4000 Plate Processor: With Plasma/Oxy Fuel/Drill capabilities.
• Lincoln Python X Robotic Coper
• Voortman V808 Robotic Coper
• Voortman V630/1050 3-Spindle Drill and Saw
• Controlled Automation ABL 100 Angle Line
• Wells 42” Band Saw
• Peddinghaus BDL 1250 Saw and 3-Spindle Drill Line
  
  

Candidates need to have some experience with CNC machines. We will train employees to use Trinity machine brands, including plate-burning tables and structural steel CNC processing.

Basic Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Blueprint Reading: Ability to read blueprints preferred.
• Experience: 6 months running a CNC machine (Peddinghaus FDB 2500). Preferred
• Skills: Must be a self-starter, eager to learn, and have good communication skills. Experience in overhead crane operation is helpful.
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
