Ensures a neat, clean and safe work environment is maintained. Ensures adequate supplies for cleaning and assists team members with moving equipment, cleaning and beds. Performs all other duties as assigned.

- Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies in a safe manner while paying close attention to residents’ needs and established cleaning protocols.
- Demonstrates respect, concern and empathy for the diverse needs of patients, customers and co-workers.
- Demonstrates and maintains a professional relationship with medical staff. Uses professional title in the workplace. Builds trusting collaborative relationships through timely follow up regarding requests and concerns.
- Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and accomplish assignments with accuracy and timeliness (meeting work schedules, work assignments and completed by deadlines, received minimal customer complaints).
- Responds to requests from customers in a positive and timely manner, measured by numbers of complaints and/or compliments registered from residents and an increase in resident satisfaction scores. Conveys residents’ concerns to the appropriate departments (e.g. Maintenance, Nursing, Dietary etc. ), or the front desk to bring about a successful resolution of the concern in the quickest, safest manner.
- Responsible for assuring safe practices as referenced in the National Patient Safety Goals and in accordance with RHS policies and procedures. Performs all cleaning duties in a timely, safe, and thorough manner in compliance with Infection Control Standards. This includes dusting, cleaning, sanitizing, trash removal, and other services as needed. Areas are cleaned according to schedule and in accordance with departmental policies.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED, (Preferred)
Experience
- Prior housekeeping/environmental services experience in a healthcare setting (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- Certified Auto External Defibrillator (AED) - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Preferred)
