We need a Director of Software Engineering to lead and oversee the software engineering function in developing, releasing, and maintaining software applications and systems for an exciting new SaaS product at Pattern. This role will establish policies and procedures that produce high-quality software product and service. This is a full-time role and will work a hybrid schedule based in Lehi, UT. Lead software engineers to deliver innovative, high-quality SaaS products on a foundation of architectural and engineering excellence Work cross-functionally with other roles and business teams to define, deliver, and support software and services Guide software engineers through planning, designing, coding, delivery, and support, driving the day-to-day technical decisions Own and continually improve the throughput and stability of product delivery and application lifecycle, in partnership with product and program management Distill complex and ambiguous situations into actionable plans for your team Manage metrics for product delivery and developer performance Communicate and collaborate with clients, partners, and vendors on technical details Provide clear, actionable project and development advice for the organization Recruit, grow, and retain engineering top talent with a strong background in SaaS development What will I need to thrive in this role? B.S. or M.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or applicable engineering or science field 15 years overall IT industry experience in the software development domain, with a strong emphasis on SaaS solutions 10 years of development experience 10 years of successful software project management experience or related experience Expert understanding of Scrum methodologies and Agile practices 5 years of experience in policy definition and leadership team advisement 5 years in a management role reporting to executive level Proven track record of building and leading collaborative teams to produce significant, measurable results What does high performance look like? You will work with members of the software engineering team locally and overseas, and be supervised by Pattern’s Senior Director of Engineering.
