Location: Glendale, CA

Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week). In-office attendance required.

Salary: Starting at $80,000 (Depending on Experience)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant / Associate Land Use Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in urban planning or a related field and will assist in managing entitlement processes, project management, and regulatory compliance for a variety of development projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process land use, zoning, and building permit applications for projects within the City of Los Angeles and other jurisdictions as needed.
  • Conduct thorough project research, including zoning and land use analysis, site visits, and preparation of technical reports, memoranda, and planning documents.
  • Coordinate and manage the development review process to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including zoning laws and environmental requirements.
  • Interface with clients, city officials, architects, engineers, consultants, and other stakeholders to effectively navigate and advocate for project goals.
  • Track and manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within scope.
  • Stay current on local zoning codes, land use regulations, environmental review processes, and policy changes that could impact project development.
  • Attend and participate in client meetings, city hearings, and project-related meetings as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members on strategic planning initiatives and policy research to support the firm’s growth and project portfolio.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Public Policy, Geography, Environmental Studies, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 2-4 years of professional experience in urban planning, land use, project management, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of the California planning framework, including CEQA, zoning codes, and development entitlement processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in preparing technical reports and presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and GIS/mapping software; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently as needed.
  • Must be organized, proactive, and flexible in a fast-paced work setting.
  • Valid Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation for occasional travel within Los Angeles.
