What are the responsibilities and job description for the Embedded Software Engineer {Autonomous Mobility} position at Pattern?
Pattern Labs is developing a robotic platform capable of autonomy in the most rugged, chaotic, unstructured spaces in the solar system.
We are a venture backed early stage Autonomy/AI Robotics team moving quickly on a robotics adventure.
Candidates should be quick learners and ready to contribute broadly to robot development. You will likely be working hands on with cutting-edge robotic systems and sensors, testing your code on robots in our 6k sqft development facility with miles of outdoor proving ground track. Ideal candidates have experience with complex robotic systems at production scale, but aptitude and quick-learning are most important. At Pattern, we value enthusiasm, energy, humility, grit, and a can-do attitude.
Candidates should have several years of industry experience developing embedded code and delivering products at scale. Candidates should be comfortable with modern object oriented langagues (C and Python ideally). This role will involve writing lower level control code and has opportunities to flex higher in the motion planning stack and/or lower into electrical and board design. Ideal candidate will love building things, learning quickly, and solving problems broadly across a robotic system. At Pattern, we value enthusiasm, energy, humility, grit, and a can-do attitude.
The team is nestled in the foothills of Colorado's Rocky Mountains with virtually unlimited frontdoor access to hiking, climbing, mountain biking, snow skiing, camping, trail running, kayaking, craft beer, and incredible food.
We have a flexible, work-from-home friendly, style of operation - but candidates should be willing to relocate to the greater Boulder/Denver area. We're building robots, and interaction with the hardware and in-person testing is a key aspect of all roles.
We offer health benefits and generous PTO packages. Our office is dog friendly, has unlimited snacks & drinks, flexible working hours (get out for the pow day!), and lots of rock climbing & skateboarding.
At Pattern we are committed to being a fun, groundbreaking, and inclusive place to work. We strongly encourage engineers from BIPOC, LGBTQ , and traditionally underrepresented backgrounds to apply.
