Job Summary:
We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in various settings. This individual will be responsible for delivering therapeutic purposes to patients of all ages, conducting diagnostic procedures as needed, and maintaining respiratory care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations on patients and adjust care accordingly
- Assist as a preceptor for students and new hires
- Monitor patient physiological responses to therapy, consulting with physicians if necessary
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to manage patient care
- Set up and operate devices, including therapeutic gas administration apparatus and mechanical ventilators
- Follow specified parameters of treatment
- Provide emergency care, such as external cardiac massage and artificial respiration
- Inspect, test, clean, and maintain respiratory therapy equipment
- Maintain charts containing patient identification and therapy information
- Measure arterial blood gases, read prescriptions, and review other information to assess patient condition
- Relay blood analysis results to a physician
- Making emergency visits to resolve equipment problems when necessary
- Ordering equipment repairs when necessary
- Explain health care treatment procedures to patients to gain cooperation
- Check pulmonary function in patients
