Description
Patterson Law LLC is seeking to add an experienced Family Law and/or Estate/Medicaid planning attorney to join our firm. We are an established law firm that has been serving clients in northeast Indiana for over a decade. Our areas of our practice include Family Law, Civil Litigation, Personal Injury, Criminal Law, Bankruptcy, Estate Litigation, and General Practice. All inquiries will remain confidential.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Conduct new client intake appointments to discuss details of case
- Draft and file pleadings/motions with court
- Create dictations with detailed instructions to paralegal/staff
- Legal correspondence including emails, letters, and messages to court staff and opposing counsel
- Respond to client phone calls, emails, and other correspondence in a timely manner
- Prepare for trial by performing tasks such as organizing exhibits, contacting witnesses, preparing trial outlines, and creating witness questions
- Calendar and manage deadlines
- Organize and maintain client files in both paper and electronic filing system
- Prepare legal documents including briefs, pleadings, motions, discovery, and proposed orders
- Legal research and writing memorandums of case law
- Investigate facts and search pertinent sources such as background checks, driving histories, skip-tracing defendants, and review of social media
- Schedule, prepare for, and attend hearings, trials, depositions, mediations, and other important legal proceedings
- Work with colleagues to ensure hearings are covered, deadlines are met, and clients are satisfied
- Being prompt for meetings, hearings, and other scheduled appointments
Skills/Requirements
- Admittance to Indiana Bar required
- Minimum education: J.D. Degree
- 3 years of experience
- Travel to/from surrounding county courthouses
- Organized and detailed
- Strong ability to research and write

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
