Water and Wastewater Manager, Southern Arizona

Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Water and Wastewater Manager in Southern Arizona to join our team. As a working Water and Wastewater Manager, you will report to the Arizona Operations Manager and be responsible for operating and managing wastewater treatment plants, public water systems, and supervising site operators. This includes planning, coordinating, and executing various tasks related to water and wastewater operations.

Responsibilities:
- Operation and maintenance of public water and wastewater systems

- Supervise water and wastewater operators

- Repair, maintain, and clean equipment, tanks, filters, lift stations, and well sites

- Collect, test and analyze water and wastewater samples

- Record meter and gauge readings and operational data

- Perform compliance sampling and complete quarterly SMRF’s at the wastewater treatment facilities

- Follow ADEQ, EPA, ADWR, and OSHA regulations

- Conduct site visits and inspections of water and wastewater sites and create work orders to correct deficiencies

Experience:
- Proven experience in the day to day operation of wastewater treatment plants and public water systems
- Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, water treatment systems, water distribution and wastewater collection systems
- Familiarity with electrical troubleshooting, instrumentation, distribution and collections systems, and mechanical equipment used in water and wastewater operations
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Basic math skills for budgeting and cost estimation
- Experience operating heavy equipment is a plus

Required Certifications:

- ADEQ Grade 2 Wastewater Treatment Certification

- ADEQ Grade 2 Distribution Certification

- ADEQ Grade 1 Water Treatment Certification
