Brief Description :
The Accounting Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Accounting Department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, and the implementation of best practices. This role is responsible for managing key accounting functions, including accounts payable, billing, corporate accounting, and inventory cost accounting. The Accounting Manager will collaborate with auditors, drive process improvements, and mentor team members to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
Detailed Description :
- Supervise and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, billing, corporate accounting, and inventory cost accounting.
- Oversee manufacturing cost accounting to ensure accurate cost allocation and tracking of raw materials, labor, and overhead.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with external auditors and actively engage in the audit process.
- Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure the production of accurate and reliable financial data.
- Manage the monthly accounting close process, ensuring consolidated financial statements are internally published by the 5th business day of each month.
- Oversee, mentor, and develop accounting team members to improve efficiency and performance.
- Review monthly account reconciliations to ensure proper GAAP application and maintain supporting documentation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance operational efficiency.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and assignments as needed.

The Accounting Manager requires the ability to work in a time sensitive, high visibility role while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor when adversity is encountered. Work is primarily in a climate controlled / office environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone and other office equipment.
