We are seeking a skilled prep cook to assist our kitchen team in preparing ingredients and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen. The successful candidate will have a passion for food and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Prep Cook will report to the kitchen manager and will be responsible for ensuring that all food is prepared according to established recipes and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing ingredients such as chopping vegetables, trimming meat, and preparing sauces
- Set up and stock workstations with all necessary supplies
- Ensure that food prep area and kitchen are clean and sanitized at all times
- Follow all recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency and quality
- Label and store all food items properly
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or kitchen manager
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a prep cook in a commercial kitchen
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent
