Shipping/Receiving Clerk
General Summary
Performs a variety of operational functions to ensure accuracy and on-time deliveries of receipts, storage, and shipments. Job functions generally include systematically receiving material, creating orders, creating shipping documents, filing paperwork, and other office duties, as necessary. Effectively and efficiently operates a computer and other office equipment.
Essential Job Functions
Maintain regular communication with leadership to receive daily assignments and provide timely information regarding receiving and inventory, customer orders, facility maintenance, safety, and other factors critical to daily operations.
- Ensure accuracy of receipts in WMS.
- Process receiving functions in WMS, as necessary.
- Communicates with customers as needed for orders.
- Interacts with drivers bringing materials to warehouse
- Enters customer orders into WMS and creates pick tickets for the orders
- Communicates with warehouse personnel regarding orders and other operational issues
- Performs data entry for reporting and other tracking documents
- Creates shipping documents and interacts with delivery drivers to ensure they have the necessary paperwork
- Filing documents in their proper places
- Answering phone calls and providing information as required
- Perform daily housekeeping duties in the respective office area as needed
- Work safely as to not cause harm to yourself, coworkers, property, or equipment. Utilize PPE as required.
- Comply with OSHA regulations, work rules, and policies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Previous experience using Microsoft Office Suite required (Excel, Word, Outlook, Etc.)
- Previous experience using some type of Warehouse Management System is preferred
Requirements -- complexity of requirements increases with grade level
- Able to learn and effectively operate within the Warehouse Management System
- Able to learn, understand and follow safety, quality control and operating procedures at all times
- Able to apply logic and understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form
- Able to add, subtract, multiply, divide
- Able to effectively communicate with coworkers
- Attention to detail
- Able to speak, read, write the English language in a proficient manner
- Able to complete paperwork in a legible, organized, and timely manner
- Able to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Able to work extended hours to meet business demands
