- Oversee the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and repair of district buildings, grounds, mechanical systems, and equipment.

- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure the successful completion of major construction projects from design to completion.
- Monitor the progress and quality of work performed by outside contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Partner with district and school administrators to identify and address facility needs, providing solutions for improvement.
- Serve as the district’s primary contact for facility-related concerns.
- Proactively communicate with staff, parents, and community members regarding facility operations, improvements, and concerns.
- Represent the district in community and professional meetings related to facilities management.
- Prepare and present reports to the board of education as requested to communicate progress regarding areas of responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in facilities management, maintenance operations, or a related field, preferably in a K-12 school district or similar institutional setting.
- Experience managing maintenance and custodial teams, developing budgets and long-term capital plans, and overseeing capital projects.
- Proven experience in facilities management with a focus on leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including district staff, administrators, contractors, and the community.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Strong understanding of building systems and maintenance practices, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building envelope.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and building codes from multiple Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
- Ability to analyze and implement energy conservation and efficiency measures.
- Proficiency in facilities management software and work order systems.
- Ability to respond to emergencies outside of regular working hours as needed.

Position Summary:
The Pattonville School District seeks a highly qualified individual to join our team as the Director of Facilities. This leadership role oversees all aspects of the DIstrict’s physical facilities, including building maintenance, repairs, renovations, safety compliance, and operational efficiency. The director of facilities and maintenance will lead, supervise, and evaluate maintenance, warehouse, and custodial staff, ensuring safe, efficient, and well-maintained environments for students, staff, and community that meet budgetary and strategic objectives.
