Deli Associate

Job Overview: We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Deli Worker to join our team. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing menu items, stocking the deli area, and maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards. This position requires flexibility to work weekend shifts and evening shifts to ensure our customers are served with utmost care and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, assist them with their orders, and provide friendly and efficient service throughout their visit to the deli.

Menu Preparation: Prepare and assemble a variety of deli menu items, including sandwiches, salads, take home meals, and other items according to established recipes and quality standards.

Stocking: Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies in the deli area. Restock items as needed to ensure a seamless and uninterrupted service.

Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized deli area, including countertops, display cases, equipment, and dining tables. Adhere to sanitation guidelines and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Cash Handling: Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently. Use the POS system to process customer orders and payments.

Product Knowledge: Familiarize yourself with the deli's menu items and ingredients to address customer inquiries and make recommendations.

Teamwork: Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and exceptional customer service.

Attendance and Punctuality: Maintain good attendance and punctuality to ensure the deli is adequately staffed during peak hours and to provide consistent service to customers.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a deli or food service environment is preferred but not mandatory. We are willing to train the right candidate with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and order processing.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, to meet business needs.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.
• Must adhere to food safety standards and follow proper food handling procedures.
• Must be able to work independently as well as within a team.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
