Overview/Description
The Sales & Marketing Services Assistant provides logistical and sales support to the Museum’s earned revenue enterprises, including event coordination, inside and outside sales of event space, and corporate sponsorship generation.
Hours: 20-24 hours per week, which will periodically include evenings and weekends.
Primary reporting relationship with Marketing & Outreach Manager
Job Duties
The Sales & Marketing Services Assistant will:
· Assist in implementing the Museum’s marketing and communications plans
· Assist in conducting the Museum’s earned revenue activities
· Develop qualified prospects
· Conduct sales and outreach calls to prospective customers
· Be primary representative at sales and marketing events, including staffing exposition tables and booths
· Handle inquiries, conduct tours, and complete bookings for rental of the Museum’s facilities
· Assist with activities of Marketing & Communication Team volunteers
· Assist with development of marketing materials and suggest new and additional materials to advance the marketing program and its implementation
· Assist with visitor services functions as required, to include admissions, gift shop, and events
· Actively market the facility for events from outside organizations
· Coordinate necessary functions and logistics with departments and teams for events
· Coordinate execution of internally produced Museum events and activities as directed
· Be on-site coordinator for both internal and external events
Sales & Marketing Services Assistant:
· Must be able to communicate well both verbally and in writing
· Must give attention to every detail of position and its areas of responsibility
· Must have excellent organizational skills
· Must be able to customize event requirements according to clients’ requests
· Must be able to learn to effectively negotiate and develop budgets for events
· Must be able to follow Museum policies, guidelines, and practices
· Must be able to respond with flexibility to emerging situations
· Must be able to work effectively with volunteers
· Be able to multitask effectively
· Be available evenings and weekends
The ideal candidate has a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud (or some of its applications), a friendly, upbeat attitude, and a strong background in customer service.
Desired Education & Experience
· Minimum of high school diploma
· At least one year of experience working in sales, especially business-to-business

Hours & Pay

About Patuxent River Naval Air Museum
Patuxent River Naval Air Museum is a private, non-profit institution located in Lexington Park, MD, adjacent to Naval Air Station. The Museum focuses on Naval flight test and evaluation, with approximately 30 aircraft and a variety of uncrewed aerial vehicles on display, along with a range of exhibits documenting many aspects of the field.
The Museum has a staff of seven and about 175 volunteers.

Salary : $17 - $19
