Job Title: Small Engine and Light Equipment Mechanic

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Small Engine and Light Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This position will primarily focus on testing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing or rebuilding various equipment used in the roofing industry. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined and possess a strong willingness to learn, with the ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues. Prior experience is not required, as we are willing to train the right individual.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, test, and maintain a variety of small engines and light equipment used in the roofing industry.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems in engines, tools, and equipment.
- Repair or rebuild engine components and other mechanical parts.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance services on all equipment.
- Adjust and replace parts as necessary to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical or electrical issues that arise.
- Maintain accurate and detailed reports of repairs, services, and maintenance performed.
- Follow safety protocols and work in a clean, organized environment.
- Work as part of a team and communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical aptitude with a strong willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently when needed.
- Punctual, reliable, and professional in appearance and attitude.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in small engine repair or light equipment maintenance is a plus, but not required.
- Knowledge of roofing industry equipment is a plus.
