Hours: 1.0 FTE, Exempt
Overview
The Special Education/Resource Teacher assumes case management duties under the direct supervision of the Building Principal and Director of Special Education. Teaches clubs and other classes, as needed. Performs lunch duty and/or other duties, as needed.
Responsibilities/duties include, but are not limited to:
- Plan, collaborate, and co-teach with regular education teachers in Math, Humanities, and Science, in accordance with each student’s IEP goals.
- Modify and/or make accommodations to lessons, projects, groupings, and tests to meet students' learning needs.
- Monitor progress towards standards and goals based on student’s IEPs.
- Provide organizational support, skill development, and assistance with project completion in small-group, pull-out settings.
- Coordinate and facilitate meetings with colleagues, parents, and/or team members to discuss progress or concerns of students with IEPs.
- Stay up-to-date with knowledge about the disabilities of the students on caseload such as ADHD, LD, Dyslexia, ED, mild MR, OCD, Asperger's Syndrome, Tourettes, Bipolar and Depression.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop rapport with all members of the school community including parents, teachers, and administrators.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university, required
- Valid Rhode Island Department of Education Certification required
- Elementary/Middle Special Education Teacher, Grades K-8 OR
- Middle/Secondary Special Education Teacher, Grades 7-12
- National background check (after offer)
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
Salary : $45,636 - $85,955
