Paul D. Camp Community College is a small 2-year college in Southeast Virginia. Campuses are located in Franklin and Suffolk. There also is a center in Smithfield. The college offers associate degrees, certificates, and career studies certificates In transfer and career/technical programs; credit and non-credit workforce services and training for businesses and industries; special interest classes for the community; and summer classes for youth through the Regional Workforce Development Center. A dual enrollment program for high school students, online courses, and developmental studies classes are available at the college as well.
The Enrollment Navigator is a vital role, serving as a resource and guide to prospective students and applicants. This position provides high-quality service allowing prospective students to successfully complete the college onboarding process employing a holistic model of care and using the case management approach to new student onboarding. Enrollment Navigators serve as the primary point of contact for new students – decreasing the fragmentation of services and providing quality care across a continuum of enrollment requirements. The Enrollment Navigator keeps prospective students engaged from the first point of contact through registration.
Core responsibilities of the position include: student advising and registration, outreach to prospective students, helping students through the admissions and onboarding process, implementing strategies for retaining students to completion of a degree or certificate, and assisting students in understanding tuition payment requirements and financial resources.
The G3 Program is a tuition assistance program for any Virginia resident who qualifies for in-state tuition and whose family income falls below an identified threshold. - Demonstrated knowledge of barriers to educational success and a desire to help others reach their educational goals.
- Proficient working knowledge of internet applications and PC-based software (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, Student Information Systems (SIS), etc.).
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to help engage, provide support to, and motivate students and excellent customer service skills, including the ability to effectively follow up and follow through is a must.

- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively both independently as well as part of a team and possess a desire to learn and grow as professional needs arise.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
- All full-time classified employees new to the Commonwealth of Virginia will serve a 12-month probationary period.
- Experience working with traditional and non-traditional college students.
- Work experience in a higher education setting or in counseling or academic coaching.
- Knowledge of available financial aid and scholarship information.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft, Navigate, and other educational technologies.
- Willingness to travel between campuses, high schools, and other outreach locations.
