Job Description:
Paul D. Camp Community College is a small 2-year college in Southeast Virginia. Campuses are located in Franklin and Suffolk. There also is a center in Smithfield. The college offers associate degrees, certificates, and career studies certificates In transfer and career/technical programs; credit and non-credit workforce services and training for businesses and industries; special interest classes for the community; and summer classes for youth through the Regional Workforce Development Center. A dual enrollment program for high school students, online courses, and developmental studies classes are available at the college as well.
This position provides comprehensive administrative support for the Isle Maritime Trades Academy Lab School.
The core responsibilities include:
1) providing administrative support for the lab school and the governing Board of Directors
2) providing admissions assistance, and quality service to students and other stakeholders, and
3) providing support for accounting, cashiering, and payroll records for the lab school
Knowledge:
- Understanding of and commitment to the K-12 environment and to the open-access community college philosophy
- Culturally competent with experience working with diverse populations within the K-12 environment
- Basic understanding of credit and non-credit program coordination processes, policies, rules and regulations
- Knowledge of effective equity-minded, evidence-based practices and a culture of care within K-12 student services
- Knowledge and understanding of academic and workforce programs
- Knowledge of the policies, procedures and regulations at the institutional, state, federal and accreditation-level that impact secondary and postsecondary education
- Knowledge of higher education principles of shared governance
- Proficient working knowledge of internet applications and PC-based software such as word-processing, spreadsheet and email (Microsoft Office preferred)
