What Does an Insurance Claims Estimator Do?
As an Insurance Claims Estimator, you’ll be instrumental in helping property owners recover after disasters. You’ll work directly with homeowners, insurance adjusters, and project managers to assess property damage, create accurate restoration estimates, and guide clients through the insurance claims process. Your work will include:
- Scoping and estimating restoration projects using industry-leading software such as Xactimate and Symbility.
- Communicating with clients and adjusters to define project scope and expectations.
- Collaborating with production teams to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
- Building relationships with property owners, insurance companies, and third-party administrators (TPAs).
- Participating in an on-call rotation to assist with new loss estimates as needed.
- Competitive earnings: Base salary commission, with current estimators earning $60,000–$100,000 annually (no earning cap).

- Proficiency in Xactimate or Symbility (or willingness to undergo training).
- Experience in restoration, construction, or insurance claims estimating.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, customer-first attitude.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Bonus: Industry certifications (e.g., IICRC, Lead, etc.)
- You have experience as a restoration estimator, construction estimator, or insurance claims professional.
- You are detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and passionate about learning new skills.
