Job Description
The Job Captain/Jr. Project Manager will work collaboratively with Firm’s Principal and Senior Staff to design spaces in accordance with architectural standards and sound design principles while meeting both client and company expectations in terms of design appearance, functionality, budget, and timelines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The requirements listed below are representative of the essential duties required of the Job Captain/Jr. Project Manager.
- Relies upon knowledge acquired through a professional degree program and prior experience to design a variety of spaces which may include:
- Architectural Interior projects (office, hospitality and residential)
- Innovation projects (learning spaces, lab / research space, and studio / creative workplace environments)
- Residential/housing projects
- Manages pre-project services, building documentation and measurement, schematic design, design development, construction drawings, bidding and negotiation, and/or construction management depending on the project’s schedule and needs of the office.
Qualifications
- A professional degree is required; B-Arch or M-Arch or the equivalent.
- More than four years of experience required in a design position.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated organization skills and responsiveness to client and management needs is a must.
- Proficient knowledge of the following software packages: AutoCAD and REVIT, Rhino and Sketch-UP are a plus.
- Professional licensure is a plus as well as passing LEED exams (LEED Green Associate, LEED BD C, or other qualification tests provided by USGBC).
Physical Demands/Efforts
- Work requires occasional physical exertion including some lifting of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- May be required to sit for extended periods of time with possible kneeling or crouching.
