Responsibilities
- Utilizes exception customer service skills to assess automotive problems and promote services by listening to customer’s description of symptoms
- Able to clarify description problems, conduct inspections, check vehicle maintenance records, and examining service schedule.
- Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and explaining provisions and exclusions.
- Provide competitive estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor, ultimately calculating customer’s payment, including deductibles.
- Prepares repair orders by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and service required; obtaining approval signatures; entering the order into service database system.
- Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer’s approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns.
- Capable of de-escalating customer complaints and prioritizes maintaining high customer satisfaction standards.
- Checking on the progress of the vehicle during servicing and relaying communication to customer when technicians discover additional problems
- Responsible for ensuring customer approval to provide additional work and be able to explain the scope of work performed and potential charges
Qualifications
- Two (2) year experience in an automotive dealership position
- General knowledge of vehicles
- Strong verbal, written & electronic communication
- Ability to effectively communicate with customers, employees, vendors & manufacturers
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must be willing to submit to a drug screen & background check.
