What are the responsibilities and job description for the Millwright position at Paul's Machine and Welding?
Assemble move, aligns, erects, installs, dismantles, repairs, or reinstalls industrial machinery and mechanical equipment at customer facilities/job sites as specified by work orders, diagrams, drawings, blueprints, or oral or written instruction by performing the following duties.
- Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Sets up and operates equipment and tools such as ladders, saws, drills, grinders, and other power tools.
- Uses tape measure, rule, square, wrenches, hammers, and other hand held tools.
- Dismantles moves, aligns, assembles, repairs, and installs machines and equipment such as shafting, conveyors, and material handling equipment.
- Assembles machines and equipment; and bolts, welds, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures.
- Sets up and operates oxy-fuel torches, plasma torches, and a variety of welding equipment and utilizes various cutting and welding methods.
- Welds metal components together as specified by work orders, blueprints, layouts, welding procedures, or minimal oral or written instruction.
- Welds flat, cylindrical, or irregular parts that may be clamped tack-welded, or otherwise positioned.
- Moves small and medium size parts by hand while large parts can be moved by utilizing a variety of rigging, lifting, and material handling equipment such as chain falls, fork lifts, and overhead hoists and cranes.
- On occasion, performs work at PMW facilities using machinery and equipment such as saws, drills, grinders, shears, form rollers, press brakes to cut, shape, fabricate, assemble, or repair machines and equipment.
