This position demands a thorough understanding of hardwood flooring processes including preparation, layout, cutting, and installation.
Duties and Responsibilities- Measure, cut, and install hardwood floors in various locations according to specified measurements and design requirements.
- Remove existing flooring or underlayment and prepare the subfloor for new installation.
- Conduct moisture level testing in flooring areas to ensure proper installation conditions and prevent future flooring issues.
- Operate a range of manual and power tools safely to cut and shape wood planks and other materials.
- Ensure adherence to all health and safety guidelines during every phase of the installation project.
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures as required.
- Provide clear and comprehensive maintenance and care instructions to clients after the installation of new flooring.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment during and after installation procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to stay current with the latest flooring techniques and innovations.
- Proven experience as a Hardwood Flooring Installer or similar role in the construction or flooring industry.
- High school diploma or equivalent; professional certifications in flooring or carpentry are highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and the ability to apply them in practice.
- Physical agility and stamina to perform labor-intensive work for extended periods.
