Position: Study Group Leader
Status: Part-Time (2-10 hours/week), Non-Exempt, Temporary, Seasonal
Department: Center for Academic and Career Success
Reports to: Coordinator for Tutoring & Supplemental Instruction Services
Salary: $16.00/hour
Description:
Study Group Leaders are hired when there is a need for targeted academic support in a specific course for which we do not already have an established tutor or during a timeframe that takes place outside of the traditional fall and spring semesters.
Qualifications and Preferences:
- Must be high-achieving students who are currently doing well in the course for which support has been requested.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and have received recommendations from the course instructor.
- Facilitate course review sessions with groups of 3 to 12 students in a collaborative format to keep everyone on task.
- Communicate regularly with the course instructor to ensure the material being reviewed is accurate and in line with the course syllabus.
- Ability to work with a broad range of diverse individuals and groups to form a safe and inclusive campus community.
