Summary of Position:

Performs tasks to provide high quality operational technology services in a manner that advances the Cooperative and promotes the strategic decisions of the board of trustees. Maintains, manages and modifies system software and applications.

Job Responsibilities:

Within the limits of established policies, procedures and budgets, assumes responsibility and has commensurate authority as delegated by the Chief Financial Officer for the following functions:

· Work with all departments to define problems/concerns using the exiting software. Evaluate and recommend solutions to the existing software and/or implement new software technologies.

· Gather and analyze data related to PPEC’s electric portfolio using Microsoft Excel, Access, and other internal tools.

· Assist primary application owners with support and troubleshooting of SCADA adjacent applications, including data archives, demand response, meter reading, and energy accounting.

· Maintain application definitions to meet changing operational and user requirements.

· Maintain control system definitions for monitoring, control, logic, and user interfaces.

· Know and ensure regulatory compliance, such as NERC CIP for our electric system.

· Review measurement data for completeness, trends, discrepancies, and other power data anomalies, and validate revenue quality interval data in order to ensure accuracy.

· Assist with ongoing projects with operations, communications, engineering, member services, and accounting.

· Automation and Instrumentation, from design, development, testing, inspection, commissioning, operations readiness, and startup

· Assist in maintaining a consistently high level of data accuracy and appearance of GIS products.

· Perform GIS analysis, data management and production of cartographic products using ESRI’s suite of software.

· Utilize analytical tools and execute strategies to improve accuracy and efficiency.

· Assists in implementing and maintaining NISC applications.

· Create and maintain a training development plan for all software applications. Providing one-on-one or group training as changes occur with the applications.

· Develop a detailed understanding of system point integrations.

· Troubleshoot and resolve software concerns for end users.

· Create and maintain a software tracking system. This will include major changes to the software.

· Manage software vendors by serving as a contact and working with vendors to troubleshoot problems.

· Develop and implement data models, algorithms, and statistical techniques to extract insights that will solve complex business problems.

· Collect, clean, purge, and analyze large and diverse data sets to identify patterns, trends, and correlations.

· Design and build data visualizations, dashboards, and reports to effectively communicate findings and key metrics.

· Work with software application vendors to ensure effective use of new and existing applications, including potential new and/or integration solutions.

· Identify, capture and analyze relevant data needed for managers and leadership to make informed business decisions.

· Stay up-to-date with best practices in data analytics to continually enhance the analytical capabilities of the organization.

· Subject to random drug and alcohol testing consistent with DOT regulation and Paulding-Putnam Electric policies.

· Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.

Specifications:

Education and Experience:

· An Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent by demonstrated ability is preferable. A minimum of three (3) years of experience and/or knowledge of the core applications is required.

Skills and Abilities:

· Knowledge of Windows OS, MacBook IOS Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Access, Crystal Report and Firewalls. Familiarity with Sonic Wall routers. Working knowledge of TCP/IP Stack, DHCP and DNS services.

· Familiarity with secured web hosting environments.

· Knowledge of networking basics such as troubleshooting, design and implementation of WAN/LAN and cabling.

· Knowledge of anti-virus software.

· Knowledge of spreadsheet and database programs and software and office equipment to track network hardware and software changes.

· Skilled in performing basic mathematical computations for determining software usage.

· Must possess strong project management skills.

· Communicate effectively with employees in order to diagnose system problems and with vendors regarding system troubleshooting and enhancements needed.

· Ability to resolve network and telephone system problems and data losses through research and investigation of documentation and able to draw from past experience.

· Ability to organize, plan and prioritize multiple tasks with varying deadlines. Must be capable of analytical thinking.

· Must be able to conduct training sessions.

· Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to formulate and implement detailed programs, policies, etc. from a conceptual basis. Must be self-motivated to complete assigned and routine tasks on time.

Additional Expectations:

· Maintain confidentiality regarding PPEC proprietary information and other department information. Overtime may be required to complete the duties as directed.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

· Must be physically able to function in the position.

· The majority of the time will be in a climate controlled office.

· Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects such as computers and peripherals.

· Unusual hours may be necessary. Considerable travel and training will be required. Some work will be dirty, strenuous and outside in a substation environment.
· Some travel and occasionally overnight trips.

· Irregular work hours and overtime may be expected.

· Must have good hearing and visual abilities.

· Must possess a valid driver’s license.

· Must be able to work well with many types of individuals and groups with various backgrounds, philosophies and experiences.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
