Pay Range: The hourly range for the Estimator I position is $26.45 - $31.25 per hour/ depending on experience.

- Estimate production levels
- Inspect job-sites with project managers
- Prepare accurate proposal bids to meet required deadlines
- Review bid documents for all necessary submittal requirements
- Assist Project Manager with contractual issues on bid projects
- Continually network and research potential business opportunities
- Develop and assist Project Managers with project schedules and cost control measures
- Develop crew and equipment requirements with Project Manage
- Perform labor & material quantity take-offs from drawings
- Assist in applying for appropriate contractual documents: certificates of insurance, bonding, and other legal requirements
- Responsible for gathering essential project information including scope of work, blueprints, and specifications to create accurate proposals.
- Meet with the customer and the sales personnel, as needed, to ensure that he/she has a clear understanding of the work to be performed.
- Calculate expenses by analyzing labor, equipment, material and time requirements of project or job.
- Evaluates offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements.
- Obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.
- Maintain a tracker of all projects and their various stages of the bid process.
- Attend all required bid walks, meetings and conference calls related to the bid process.
- Verification of all federal, local, and state licensing and permitting required to complete the project.
- Utilize experience in Small Cell, DAS, and Fiber Splicing to clearly understand project scope of work and specific client project requirements.
- Must work in a team environment that requires regular communication and consulting with other employees, vendors, and clients
- Collaborate frequently to assess project progress, giving special attention to scope creep, potential cost overruns, and that the work being performed complies with that which is defined in scope of work.
- Perform a postmortem on all bids to determine why our bid was not successful or to determine how a successful bid can be improved upon (Lessons Learned close out).
- Maintain an extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
- Build and maintain internal and customer relationships.

- To be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- 2 yrs. experience in underground & aerial utility construction (with focus in telecommunications)
- High school graduate or equivalent; Associate degree preferred
- Relevant estimating certifications preferred.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Possess a working knowledge of CATV Underground and Aerial Construction parameters.
- Possess basic knowledge of building construction methods and codes.
- Ability to read and interpret CATV fiber design prints.
- Must have basic computer skills, be Microsoft office proficient, and be familiar with digital calendars.
- Capable of working in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
- Proficiency with MS Office applications and online bidding software
- Consistent ability to meet monthly / quarterly sales objectives
- Highly developed networking, customer relations, and negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to influence desired outcomes
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Estimator experice preffered
