Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical environment. This position requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort. Experience in a hospital setting, particularly in areas such as PICU or Medical-Surgical units, is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information.
- Prepare patients for X-Ray procedures and ensure proper handling of equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical supplies.
- Support the nursing staff in inpatient care within a Level I Trauma Center.
- Administer basic life support as needed and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Document patient interactions accurately in electronic health record systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care delivery.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role within a hospital setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient assessments effectively.
- Familiarity with medical-surgical practices and protocols is beneficial.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
