Position Title: Compliance Officer
Department: Gaming Commission
Supervised by: Gaming Agent Manager
Days/Hours: 4/10 or 5/8 hour shifts
Salary: $19/hour, Graveyard Shift $1.00 increase
SUMMARY: Inspects, regulates and monitors the gaming operation for compliance with all requirements of the IGRA, Compact, Gaming Ordinance, Tribal Regulations, Casino Internal Control Systems and the NIGC MICS. Position requires working holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Under general supervision of the Gaming Agent Manager. The Gaming Agent will; conduct compliance checks, monitor slot machine, and any/all forms of Software (Eprom, Compact Flash, Hard Drive, etc). Write reports and conduct investigations. Perform unannounced inspections of all areas of the casino day to day operations. Conduct random testing/auditing of internal control systems. Observe and monitor control chip changes and prepare appropriate reports. Examine, test and inspect gaming equipment. Conduct interviews of patron disputes and complaints. Monitor gaming activities, investigate criminal violation/activities. Conduct MICS compliance audits, as assigned by Internal Auditor. Work closely with security, surveillance, slots and other departments, as needed. Operate surveillance monitoring equipment. Observe surveillance monitoring equipment. Observe and report potential violations. Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS: Knowledge of Federal, State, Tribal and other applicable gaming laws and/or regulations. Interact and communicate with a diverse group of people in a professional manner. Ability to operate a two-way radio, surveillance equipment, computers and related office equipment. Skills in preparing and maintaining reports and communication. Knowledge of surveillance equipment and surveillance techniques. To have working knowledge of slot machines, table/card games, craps and roulette. The ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, ability to work in a smoking environment, and the ability to work independently.
Must be able to obtain and maintain State and Tribal licensing certifications. Any combination of experience and education that will allow the applicant to satisfactory perform the duties of the job may be considered when filling the position. Must pass a pre-employment drug test, and background/fingerprint check. All Gaming Commission employees are subject to random drug testing.
